Description

This is a fun, hand's on activity which involves turning ready-made cake into galaxy-themed cake pops.


Resources

Cake
Spoon/ knife
Bowls (for melted chocolate)
Skewers
Chocolate
Sprinkles

Instructions

LEADERS
1.Portion the cake. (LEADERS)
Break the ready-made cake into 50 equal portions (using a spoon or knife).
2. Prepare the melted chocolate (LEADERS)
Microwave the chocolate in a microwave safe bowl. Heat in 20-30 second bursts.
OR. Place chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a bowl of boiling water. Stir until melted. Once melted keep warm.
3. Check allergins with young people/ OSM details (Wheat, egg, Milk, Soy).

PARTICIPENTS
1. Mould into balls
Ask the young people to use their hands to mould the cake in their hands into a smooth ball.
Press firmly to help the cake hold together.
2. Carefully push a skewer into the centre of each ball. Don't push too far - just enough to hold it securely.
3. One at a time, dip the cake pops into the melted chocolate (twist to coat fully) and let any extra drip off.
4. Why the chocolate is still wet, decorate with galaxy themed sprinkles.
5. Eat, or let them set first.
