Stringing Along
Report Copyright Infringement View in OSM UK
Description
Beavers hunt for pieces of string or rope and try to tie them in the longest line they can using knots they have learned.
Resources
75 to 100 pieces of string and or rope of varying lengths - from 2 inches to several feet.
Instructions
Hide each piece of string or rope someplace in the room before Beavers arrive. Have Beavers stand in the middle of the room. Divide the groups into two teams and explain that you've hidden pieces of string and rope, pointing out the more obvious ones. The object of the game is for each team to find and tie together as many strings as possible. Since the strings are not the same length, the winning team will not necessarily be the one with the largest number of strings, but the one with the longest line. When it seems that most strings have been found and tied, have teams stretch their lines of string next to each other to compare. The team with the longest string is the winner.
