Instructions

1) Teach the unit how to introduce themselves, using “mish” and then their name. Get them to practise saying their names out loud, all in a group simultaneously. E.g. “Mish Olivia”, “Mish Charlie” etc. Their individual names won’t be discernible, but it will give them confidence in using “mish”. You could get them to say their names in various ways (quietly, loudly, like a ghost etc) to practise the phrase, and keep it fun and light-hearted.
2) Introduce the question “Quoi uss?” (Who are you?) to them, and them to repeat it a few times – again, using different voices if appropriate.
3) Teach them “hee’m oo”, which means “I will see you”. They can then naturally close interactions in the next step of the activity.
4) Once they are comfortable with “mish” and “quoi uss?”, get them to go around the unit, and ask as many people their names as possible. They can use a greeting at the start of each interaction. They should close with “hee’m oo!” before moving onto the next person.

Interactions should look something like:
• “Fastyr mie! Quoi uss?
• “Fastyr mie. Mish Jess. Quoi uss?
• “Mish X. Hee’m oo!”
• “Hee’m oo!”
[Players move onto next people]
