Description

This task is to help Squirrels and younger Beavers to learn to distinguish between digital and non digital items. This is a good activity for Cubs to expand what digital technology is and its uses
Help kids:
- Understand what digital technology is
- Think about what it’s good for
- Practice sharing ideas in a group

Instructions

There are two versions of the activity

The easier task is to sort cut out pictures of digital and non digital images (attached in download section)

or In a group, on a large piece of paper we are figuring out what things use digital technology. Digital technology uses electricity and computer brains to work. Draw or write your answers.

Questions for kids:
What digital things do you use at home?
Where have you seen screens?
What makes something “smart”?
Does it use buttons, touch, or voice?
Ask:
How does technology help people?
How does it help at school?
How does it help families?
How does it help doctors or firefighters?
What fun things can we do with it?
