1. Introduce Top Trumps to Cubs and ask questions to get the pack excited to play! See attached notes.
2. If using to select players to represent the pack at a district wide or county-wide competition have them organise themselves from the youngest to the oldest based on their birthday. Group the cubs accordingly e.g. 9.5 yrs and older and younger than 9.5yr.
3. Assign each cub as a number 1 or 2 and ask 1s to sit on one side of the table and 2s on the other. Competing pairs will sit opposite each other and select the Top Trumps pack they both are happy to play. Spare packs can be shared amongst all pairs to make sure every pair has at least one pack.

If they are on a second game the score taken should be that of the result of the first game e.g. 0 - 30.
5. Rotate players to ensure everyone has a new partner and different pack of Top Trumps to play. Start a second 10 minute round and record scores in the same way at the end. Add both scores from each round to identify the order of players in each group.
6. The remaining time can be used to organise players into other Top Trumps games depending on what options are available.
