Description
Squirrels learn that aircraft: Carry people, Carry goods, Help in emergencies
Energy level: Wiggly & active, Good to start session to burn off excess energy for later activities
Space: Clear floor area
Resources
printed symbols or items to symbolise the different aircraft, for example a suitcase, a cardboard box and a first aid kit
Instructions
Make 3 “aircraft job zones” on the floor:
? People Plane Zone
? Cargo Plane Zone
? Rescue Aircraft Zone
Tell them: “We’re going to help aircraft do their jobs!”
Hold up or call out items one at a time.
Squirrels must run to the correct zone.
Examples to call: (see attached document for more fun call ideas)
“Family going on holiday!”
“Big box of bananas!”
“Someone hurt on a mountain!”
“Suitcase!”
“Parcel of toys!”
“Person stuck in the sea!”
Sit down and ask:
“Which aircraft takes people on trips?”
“Which one carries boxes?”
“Which one helps people in trouble?”
End with: “Aircraft have different jobs, and they help people all over the world!”
