Creating 2D or 3D pictures as a six, in the dark, using glow sticks and joiners

Resources

- Glow sticks (various colours)
- Black paper or poster boards
- Wet wipes for clean-up
- A first aid kit

Instructions

1. Materials Check: Gather glow sticks of various colours, black paper or poster boards, and a space that can be darkened effectively.
2. Layout the Area: Set up tables in a dimly lit area or a space where you can turn the lights off completely. Ensure there is enough space for each Cub to work safely.
3. Safety Briefing: Explain to Cubs about the safe use of glow sticks. Advise them not to bend or break the glow sticks, and instruct them to alert a leader if a glow stick leaks.
4. Draw with Glow Sticks:
- Hand out glow sticks and black paper or poster boards.
- Allow Cubs to create designs, shapes, or even write their names by "drawing" in the air with the glowing sticks.
- Encourage them to collaborate or create a community piece of art if they wish.
