As a homelessness awareness activity, ask sixes to build a shelter out of cardboard.

Resources

Cardboard boxes and masking tape.

Instructions

Give the children 10 minutes to build their shelters. Test the shelters but asking two cubs to shelter inside. Spray the shelter with water to represent rain, and use a large piece of cardboard to fan "wind" towards the shelter - how does it stand up.
