Description

A quick, active game where children decide if different situations are emergencies by standing up or staying seated, helping them learn when to get help from emergency services.

- Someone has fallen and can’t get up — ✔
- You see smoke coming from a house — ✔
- You lost your favourite toy — ✖
- A grown up suddenly can’t breathe and looks very unwell — ✔
- Your phone battery is low — ✖
- You see a strange dog wandering alone — ✖ (tell a grown-up)
- A person is lying on the ground and not waking up — ✔
- You want pizza, but the shop is closed — ✖
- You spot a fire in a bin — ✔
- You see a car crash, and someone is hurt — ✔
- Your cat is stuck in a tree — ✔ (fire service can help)
- You’re locked out, but a neighbour is home — ✖ (ask safe adult)
- An adult you’re with suddenly faints — ✔
- You hear a loud bang but see no danger — ✖ (tell an adult)
- You can’t find your homework — ✖
- A fire alarm is going off in a building — ✔
- Your friend won’t share crayons — ✖
- A neighbour’s window is smashed, glass everywhere — ✔
- Your sibling took the TV remote — ✖

Instructions

How to Play
- Children start sitting down.
- Read a scenario aloud.
- If they think it is an emergency → Stand Up
- If they think it is not an emergency → Stay Sitting
- Briefly explain each answer.
