Cubs will carve fun designs into potatoes using safe tools and techniques.

Resources

- Small potato carving kits (non-sharp)
- Potatoes (one for each Cub)
- Marker pens for drawing designs
- Paper towels for cleanup

Instructions

1. Provide each Cub with a potato and a small, safe carving kit (not real knives).
2. Demonstrate how to hold the potato and the right technique for carving safely.
3. Encourage Cubs to draw their designs on the potato with marker pens before carving.
4. Allow Cubs to carve their designs, ensuring they cut away from their body.
5. Offer assistance and supervision throughout the activity.
6. Allow time at the end for Cubs to showcase their carved potatoes.
