Description

How good is your scout group at running a takeaway business? I guess we’re going to find out!
This activity tests the young members leadership, team-working and communication skills as they thrive to ensure the business is running as efficiently as possible.
The aim is to prepare, ‘cook’, package and deliver orders they receive from the leaders as well as supplying themselves with the necessary raw materials provided.
This activity is inspired by the Roblox game ‘?Work at a Pizza Place’.

Instructions

Pre-Activity:
Set up the stations far from eachother spreaded evenly around the scout hut (includng outside).
Prepare the raw materials and place them in the suppliers station.
Elect a Manager to distribute the tasks
Create a ticketing system that the members will understand (older members should do this themselves). The ticketing system should follow the orders so they are not lost and cheating will be caught.

Start ex:
Manager delegates team to work at the 5 stations (They may rearrange throughout the activity)

Manager:
Distributes the tasks evenly throughout the team ensuring efficiency is being maintained. They may help out in areas that require support or recruit workers from other stations to help out. They should give good praise throughout the exercise and monitor limitations. (For younger members or a team who is struggling, a leader may fill this role as appropriate).

Order/Collect station workers:
Should show good customer service skills. Objective is to receive orders from leaders and pass them onto the preparation station. They should return the orders to the leaders once collected from the delivery workers. Incharge of creating tickets.

Preparation station workers:
Recieve orders from the delivery workers, prepare and cook them. Pass them onto the packaging station once cooked.

Packaging station workers:
Recieve meals from the preparation station and put them in the envelopes. Pass them to the delivery workers to return back to the order/collect station.

Delivery workers:
Act as a relay between the order/collect station, preparation station and the packaging station. Should be as fast as possible but account for terrain.

Supply workers:
Supply the stations with raw materials. No more than 5 raw materials can be stored at the station at any given time and no more than 2 raw materials can be transported together.
