??The Mystery of New Zealand’s Missing Wildlife??
Imagine you are wildlife detectives on a very important mission.
Across Aotearoa, hidden deep in the forests, mountains, and waters, some amazing animals and plants are struggling to survive, with some only existing in captivity.
Some are Vulnerable Fewer than 10,000 mature individuals
Their numbers are getting lower, but they need our help to stay safe.
Some are Endangered Fewer than 2,500 mature individuals
There are not many left, but they are protected and can still be found if you know where to look.
Some are Critically Endangered Fewer than 250 mature individuals
Only a very small number remain, and they could disappear forever very soon.
And some are Extinct No individuals
They are sadly gone forever, and can only be remembered through stories, pictures, and fossils.
Your mission is to solve the picture card puzzle and listen carefully to the leader's clues to match each creature to its correct conservation category.
You must work with your fellow detectives to choose 2 cards at a time, take it in turns to flip them to find matches and work together to decide which category they belong to.
