Description

A fun and creative activity using powder paint and water sprays to create colour explosions on paper.

Resources

Cartridge Paper
Powder Paint
Water Sprays
Teaspoons
Baking trays
Newspaper (cover floor and do activity on floor)
Kitchen roll (for blotting)

Instructions

Using cartridge paper placed inside baking trays, the Cubs create colourful Holi-inspired artwork using powdered paint and water sprays. Cubs use teaspoons to lightly scatter 4–5 different shades of powdered paint across their page, comparing the technique to “putting sugar on a pancake”. Once the colours have been added, they use water spray bottles to activate the powder and create bright colour explosions and blended patterns across the paper.

The activity links to learning about Holi, the Festival of Colours, and encourages creativity, experimentation, and careful listening skills.

Recommended- if Cubs are asked to bring their own baking tray in then they have something suitable to carry their art home in too!
