Description

Cubs to be shown a poem (In Flanders Fields) and asked to give a one word answer to the question, How does this poem make you feel?. This is to be done as a group. After the poem is discussed as a group the young people should write their answers on a strip of paper/card. Then this is to be made into a paper chain, showing we all can reflect on the same the topic but can all feel different ways.

Resources

Colored paper/card. Pencils/pens. Glue sticks.

Instructions

Sit young people down in a group.
Show the poem to the young people and ask them how it makes them feel ? / What do they think about it?
Each young person gives an answer.
Tell the young people to write their answer on a strip of card.
Make the card into a ring.
Create a paper chain from all the rings collected from the young people.
