Warm up game for paddling.

Resources

One kayak or paddleboard paddle per person.

Instructions

Group stands in a circle, equally spaced with their paddles held up vertically in one hand, at arms length, with one blade on the ground in front of them. If you give the command ‘Left’ the people in the group will let go of their paddles and step left to where the person to the left of them was and at the same time grab that person’s paddle before it drops to the ground. Likewise if the command ‘Right’ is given, the group will do the opposite. If the paddle is dropped the person without a paddle is out.
When people become too good, speed up the commands or two paddles to the right etc.
You can also use more nautical terms e.g. port and starboard.
