Description

Young people will decide how they will support the Delivering Joy campaign. They will review gift requests, agree what support they can provide and create a simple action plan. This session demonstrates how community projects require planning, teamwork and cooperation to achieve positive outcomes.

Resources

Delivering Joy gift tags - Can be collected from local Dunelm store
Pens and pencils
Planning sheets
Whiteboard or flipchart
Budget information if relevant

Instructions

1. Remind the group of the community need identified during Session 1.
2. Present the available Delivering Joy gift tags.
3. Read through several requests as a group.
4. Discuss which requests the group is able to support.
5. Encourage young people to think carefully about the age and interests of the recipient.
6. Decide whether gifts will be:
-Purchased
-Donated
-Handmade
-A combination of all three
7. Create an action plan covering:
- What gifts are needed
- Who will provide materials
- Who will make or purchase items
- Dates for completion
- Return deadline
8. Allocate responsibilities fairly amongst the group.
9. Review the plan and confirm everyone understands their role.
