Objective: Cubs learn and practise useful knots.

Resources

Rope/string, poles or chairs.

Instructions

Teach:

- Reef knot
- Clove hitch
- Bowline (if appropriate for your Cubs)

Activity
Give Cubs a series of challenges:

- Tie two ropes together.
- Attach a rope to a post.
- Make a loop that will not slip.
- Complete a timed knot challenge.

Challenge: Can they teach another Cub one knot?

Review: What makes a good knot and when might you use it?
