Instructions

Gather everyone together and explain that everyone is going to design their own spooky Halloween character.

People can do this either by themselves or in pairs. They might want to make a scary creature, such as a vampire, witch, alien or monster. However, if they don’t want to create something scary, they could make another character, such as a superhero.

Everyone can create their character, using whichever materials they like.

Next, let everyone make their monster. They could use clay, plasticine, create a puppet with a wooden spoon, paint, draw or use craft materials.

Ask everyone to get into groups and show each other their creations.

The group should take it in turns to tell each other a bit about their character, such as what it’s called, where it’s from or where it lives, what it likes to eat or drink, and anything else it does.

Now, ask the groups to come up with a story that includes each of their characters. They could draw it or write it down if they want to to help them remember it.

Everyone should come back together. Groups could share the story they came up with if they’re happy and comfortable to. No-one has to perform or share their story if they don’t want to.
