Run as a relay race
Cubs have to race up to collect suitable items to put in a daypack - each round will have a different activity/season/weather for them to pack for

Resources

selection of items needed for camp / different activities
include a range of seasons / weather / conditions plus some items that would just never be useful

Instructions

Cubs line up in their Sixes - they are told an activity plus season / weather
Relay race to collect 3 items that would be suitable to wear or pack
At the end of the round award points - brief discussion of choices, put the items back in the pile
Go again with another activity
Run 4 or 5 short rounds
Feedback at the end - what are the important things that you always need? What do you never need:
Time to run depends upon number of rounds and how much you talk - worth having a few rounds to make it worth getting all the stuff together!
