Description

Teams will work together to build a shelter using natural materials and then test its strength by dropping an egg from a certain height.

Resources

- Natural materials for building (branches, leaves, etc.)
- Eggs (or plastic eggs for safety)
- Small platform for dropping eggs
- Measuring tape (to ensure consistent drop height)
- First Aid kit

Instructions

1. Form Teams: Split [members] into groups of 4-5.
2. Explain the Task: Each team must build a sturdy shelter using only natural items found in the area.
3. Set Parameters: Specify how large the shelter should be and set safety rules for using any tools.
4. Build Time: Allow teams 25 minutes to gather materials and construct their shelters.
5. Prepare for the Egg Drop: Explain that each team will receive one egg to test their shelter. After building, [members] should place their shelter over a designated drop area.
6. Conduct the Test:
- Use a small platform (this could be a log or a stable surface) to drop the egg from a predetermined height (for example, 1 metre).
- Carefully drop the egg onto the shelter from the platform, ensuring safety is top priority.

7. Evaluate: Check whether the egg inside the shelter is intact or broken. Discuss the results with the teams.
