Instructions

Before you begin gather everyone and read the book We're going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen or watch the YouTube video of the story narrated by Michael Rosen.

Explain to the young people that they are going on a bear hunt now in their meeting place. They must travel through all the places in the story by using their 5 senses. Spread the 5 activities out forming a trail throughout the meeting place.

They will:
1. Smell the grass (Grass from the garden on a tray)

2. Touch the water/river (Water in washing up bowls, have 1 cold and 1 warm. Place the bowls on a tarp and have towels at the end to dry off feet. Advise the young people to wear no socks and slip on shoes, such as crocs)

3. Taste the mud (Chocolate moose and crumbled up brownies)

4. Listen to the forest (YouTube video or go outside)

5. See the snowstorm (White confetti or a YouTube video)

Create a cave with a blanket fort or a pop up tent and place the teddy bear inside for the young people to find.
