Instructions

Groups of three, four. They are shown how to assemble and light trangias/stoves. Safety talk can be given and suitable food types (weight, dehydrated food stuff, availability of water). They will have decided on food (or researched menus) and can bring or go and buy suitable food (financial limit is a good idea) or use a range of food bought by leaders with some more unusual packet meals thrown in. They then have to prepare a meal using light weight food ingredients. Leaders judge the food on taste and suitability for expedition use. If using a range of foods, Scouts taste all menus cooked and decide on what they like for the forthcoming expedition.
