Description
Working together as a team of four, the young people all aim to climb to the top of the pole and fit on a small platform high in the air – requires bravery, communication and teamwork to succeed.
Resources
Provided by the Activity Centre: Helmets, ropes, harnesses, platform on a telegraph pole.
Instructions
This is a great activity that involves trust, communication and cooperation. There's a small platform at the top of what looks like a very high telegraph pole. The whole team has to get to the top. The YPs need to cooperate with each other as there is very little space for manoeuvre. Once they've got everyone up comes the real trust test, hold on to each other and lean back.
An introduction and overview of the activity will be given which includes a health and safety brief.
1 participant will climb to the top of the pole, once standing up on the platform the next participant climbs to the top.
Maximum number of people at the top will be 4, when at the top of the ladder they can then try and balance in weird and wonderful ways!
Typically groups of 3 to 4 at a time are on this activity.
